Persistent back pain?

Perhaps you have been taking pain-killers, or had regular treatment that helps for a short time.  Or you may have been given exercises that seemed to make it worse.  How about a radical and lasting approach to pain in your back, shoulders or neck?

This technique, validated last year in the British Medical Journal, is based on identifying exactly what causes the problem and what you, yes you, can do about it.  It’s neither difficult nor painful.  In fact most people enjoy it.

You may not have heard of the Alexander Technique, or believe it’s something to do with posture.  In nearly 30 years as a practitioner of the AT most of my clients have come because of recurrent pain in the back, neck, shoulders or hips.  Most have learned a means of looking after themselves which exceeded their best hopes.  Posture, where relevant, can be changed.

It is not a quick fix, though.  The likelihood is that muscle pain which has been troubling you for a matter of months or years has been caused by something you have been doing for months or years.  This “something” can be a habit acquired at work or elsewhere of which you are entirely unconscious.  I can probably identify it at the first session, but to eradicate it you’ll need time.  How much time is up to you, but with the Alexander Technique you’ll learn to relieve stress as well as back pain.  See the rest of this website for more details, bookmark this site as a favourite in case other approaches don't provide a lasting solution, and feel free to ring me for a chat or Email me.
